Arts group takes a new tack to court corporations

"A local arts nonprofit group's campaign to win support within Portland-area companies could be an uphill battle.
But the Regional Arts and Culture Council has strong support from a number of prominent businesspeople, and hopes with their help to meet ambitious fund-raising goals.
'It is difficult to get people to understand the importance of the arts, particularly when the economy isn't so hot,' said Dianne Dailey, president and CEO of law firm Bullivant Houser Bailey PC.
RACC is not out raising money to fund its own organization. The group is trying to boost its Regional Arts and Culture Fund, which distributes money to more than 70 arts and culture organizations in the tri-county area."
