[0]Bikes galore at the award event. The results [1] of the BTA [2] bike to work challenge are in. This year's challenge was a outstanding success. Participation was up from 550 workplaces and 6186 riders in 2006, to 888 workplaces and 9,746 bike commuters, logging 101,269 trips and riding 922,835 miles.
There were so many outstanding showings this year. Of course the winners in each of the categories were impressive, but when I scanned the results I found some terrific stories.

I have to mention National College of Natropathic Medicine [3],
which is not located in a terribly bike friendly location. NCNM came in first in the category of Businesses or Non-Profits greater then 500 + employees. 146 participants in the challenge logged a record 1380 trips. That is a lot of people power.
Community Cycling Center [4] was pretty stellar, with their first place position for bike shops with 22 employees logging 368 trips!
New Seasons Arbor Lodge [5] was a winner in the Businesses over 100 employees with a 53.8% participation rate. What was also nice to see in that category was First Alternative Co-op [6] in Corvallis [7] coming in third with 101 employees logging 536 trips and a participation rate of 37.6 %.
While it is an honor just to be mentioned [8], it does feel great to win [9].
