Join your neighbors in the bike lane.
My commuting by bike started a year ago with the challenge and The challenge is just one of the reasons ridership in Portland is up. Portland has seen a 145% increase in bike ridership since 1996, equaling 4.4% of workers bike to work. If you are not on your bike yet, maybe it is time to try it. Check out the options department at PDOT to find out more about how to get around or the BTA to learn more about safe biking in Portland.
Tell us your bike commute stories.

Down here on Swan
Down here on Swan Island...no bike lanes, just one legal, all weather access route for bikes or peds...Freightliner HQ has almost 100 of its 1900 employees participating in the Challenge. At its nearby testing facility, 10% are commuting by bike. Meanwhile up at adidasAmericas NA HQ, over 10% of their 900 employee are commuting by bike. Also lot of bikes can be seen at UPS and Fed Ex Ground.
We are moving freight down here by getting Swan Island employees to bike to work, as well as using transit, sharing a rid. 2 SOVs removed frees up lane space for 1 Semi tracter-trailer.
Sam, stop by adidasVillage between 7 and 9 am tomorrow for coffee/plus with adidas bike commuters...its on the Swan Island TMA.
