You might want to amend your entry for 6/9 - I believe that although to the neighborhoods it may be a "fright" plan, you meant the Freight Master Plan.

re: Sam's Calendar: Southeast Portland

I voted for you because i work for BDS and we have met. I believe you care about this city as much as I do and will take action to make it a better place for all who live in it.
please don't forget us in outer southeast portland. sometimes we feel that the city sees their area of responsibility ending somewhere around 82nd avenue with not much thought or revenue spent past that point. My neighborhood near division and 156th is fast becoming the depository for all the low income folks being squeezed out of inner north, northeast, and southeast portlands neighborhoods by the exploding real estate market and skyrocketing property values. Our crime issues, poverty and the like don't seem to be getting much attention from the city while it's more concerned with putting an ice rink in Pioneer courthouse square or worried about the Burnside Bridgehead project. My neighborhood is full of children but the nearest parks community center is at mall 205. not exactly in the neighborhood for our family. Portland Parks bureau bought a large lot of land next to the Harold Oliver grade school but when I asked parks personnel when the plan to develope it, they just say there are no plans at this time. Development of the property is not in the budget (but we can afford a seasonal ice rink in portlands livingroom) I think that along with the population, the priorities of the city and revenue spent should shift to and include outer south east portland. We already have severe crime including lots of meth labs, wait until our children grow up in a city that doesn't care about them. then watch the crime explode in outer southeast portland. Our children must be made a higher priority if we are to raise good citizens for the future.

It is shown to be the common solution to any problem threatening to affect social stability
