For Sam, support for the arts isn't just about getting more money (although he says, that is his most inportant job for the arts), no, for Sam, it also means showing up and being a hands on promoter of Portland art. And Sam gets asked to emcee, pose for a event promotional photo, conduct auctions and much more, a lot. Here are just a few of last year's "special" events:
Alberta Art Hop [0]
A retrospective of art work from our City Hall 1st Thursday art shows, this event was a collaboration with past City Hall artists and the Alberta Art Hop. This lively event was filled with hungry art-hoppers who mingled and enjoyed musical entertainment by Ken Barber and his Happiness Boys.
Salmon Nation Block Party [1]
Sam's team was onhand at this 'green' event passing out bike maps and offering interactive displays and information about healthy watershed systems.
Portland Fashion Week [2]
After the successful Sustainable Fashion Show at City Hall, Sam was invited to MC the 2006 Portland Fashion Week. Sam "Glam" Adams brought enthusiasm and humor to this showcase of Portland's emerging designers featuring several nights of cutting-edge fashion.

Trick or Vote [3]
Sam acted at MC at this non-partisan event put on by the Bus Project that encourages voting. A mix of live music, performance, and voting education, the show was crafted to inspire and motivate.
Junk to Funk [4]
Sam was MC extrodinaire at this fun and funky recycled fashion event. The fashion was not only elegant and innovative--it was recently just considered junk!
