Everyone Loves a Parade--Especially Sam's Office

Sam and Samba Sol DancerSam and Samba Sol Dancer"Oh, yea, you say you will be different, but we will not see you again until the next re-election cycle..."  As a 2004 City Council candidate, Sam says he heard comments like these often mentioned.  Sam's worked hard to prove them wrong.

Over the 2006 summer months, Sam and the team have marched in neighborhood parades and particpated in festivals covering each area of the city. Each part of Portland has its own rich culture and history lending to unique and diverse neighborhood parades.

Getting out in the community is one of Sam's favorite parts of his job--making personal contacts with his constituents is a major part of his overall mission to make Portland government more accessible and effective.

At most of the parades we team up with Transportation Options--an office in the Portland Office of Transportation to hand out bike and walking maps of Portland and educate people on transportation alternatives.

Look for Sam and his Team  Summer 2007 at your  neighborhood parade!
