City BLF 'Check off for the Arts' Launches, Includes Tax Deduction

In 2004, Sam proposed it. In 2005, the Portlandf City Council approved it. This year, we implemented it.

It is now even easier for every business, no matter the size, to contribute to the arts through the Portland Business Check-off for the Arts. If you file a Business License Fee (BLF) with the City of Portland, you will now have the option to make a (federal and state) tax-deductible contribution to Work for Art when filing.

Work for Art is primarily a workplace giving program, but anyone or any business can participate. Through Work for Art, you can designate a gift to a particular organization or make a donation that supports over 75 organizations in Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington Counties.
