[0]Q Center BoardThis year was monumental for Portland's LGBTQ community. Four years ago, Sam co-founded the non-profit that this year brought the opening of Portland's very own Q-Center.
The Q-Center's mission is to increase the visibility of and foster the connection within Portland's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning community. The Q-Center hosts a wide variety of community events such as: Bingo with local icon Poison Waters; Generqueer socials and discussion groups; Family play dates for queer families with children; and Monthly Art Openings. [0]Spooky!
[0]Poison Waters, aka Kevin Cook, leading the Q Center's bingo night. The Q-Center has been a vision for the Portland LGBTQ community for a long time and became a reality only after the feasibility of a center was fully explored. The LGBTQ community has resoundingly responded that Portland needs, wants and can support a LGBTQ center. The Board of directors tirelessly fundraised and developed a strategy to open the Q-Center. Please visit the Q-Center's [1]website or more importantly visit the center at 69 SE Taylor street. To find out more information about supporting the center please contact Gene De Han 503-234-7837.
