Great show!Submitted by Kristi Hart on Sat, 03/08/2008 - 10:51am.
This was my first time coming to First Thursday - and I'm hooked! Thank you to City Hall for hosting this and opening your offices to not only the art but the people and general chaos of the evening. The music and performance artists and vendors really made the atmosphere. Kudos to the curator for putting it all together! » reply
InclusivenessSubmitted by Kim Smith on Sat, 03/08/2008 - 11:13am.
I thoroughly enjoyed the show and was so amazed and impressed that City Hall made it possible for such inclusiveness. I loved walking around through the hallowed halls and offices, interacting with art and friends, hearing the fine music of Trash Can Joe, and munching on a Voodoo Donut. The linkages between such diverse contributors were inspired, Bryan. Seeing Mark Chapman's sand sculpture next to Sculpture Man made my night! Our beautiful city, its creative citizens, and its visionary leaders are beyond "weird;" they're awesome! » reply
Weird and Good- Let's Keep it That Way!Submitted by Laura Caswell on Sat, 03/08/2008 - 12:21pm.
The Keep Portland Weird show was easily the best part of this First Thursday! I love that Portland is the kind of city where this type of event can be hosted at City Hall. Excellent performances, wonderful art, great refreshments, and good to be able to have these kinds of interactions at City Hall :) Big Thanks to everyone involved! » reply

Marvelous combination ofSubmitted by Edie on Wed, 03/12/2008 - 10:14pm.
Marvelous combination of wild, wacky and weird. Bryan Grimes encourages his subjects to come out and play. The opening night felt like the Albert Street art walk meets in a SW location. I look forward to the next one. » reply

Keep Portland Weird!
I want to send out a big thank you to all of the wonderful artists who responed to the call for art. Your excellent work is going to send a reinvigorating breath of fresh air into our City Hall. It is an honor to be the curator of such a show. I only wish we had more room for so many of the other intriguing pieces that had to be declined. I tried to keep three things in mind as I was considering the works that would be displayed: great quality, overall weirdness, and inherent Portlandness.
