It was created by United Way CEO Brent A. Stewart, Sr. and Gallery Director Sunshine Dixon. The purpose of the gallery was to show the work of local and emerging painters, sculptors, photographers and artisans and the connection to the goals and mission of the United Way - helping people, making every contribution count and changing lives. At the Art of Change Gallery, many of the artists have overcome personal challenges that proved to serve as motivation in creating their work. Some pieces reflect a story of struggle and triumph, of pain and resolution, about the day to day lives of talented people overcoming extraordinary odds. Many artists who show in the United Way Center have never shown before. It is one of the goals of the gallery to provide the first opportunity for some to show and sell their work and become more engaged in the community.

A hearty "THANK YOU" toSubmitted by Roserria Roberts on Wed, 02/21/2007 - 9:55am.
A hearty "THANK YOU" to Sunshine Dixon and the artists who displayed their work at United Way and City Hall. It was a heart-felt celebration of the love and dedication bring to the city, the love they hold for one another and the hope and aspirations that still remain alive. The media was outstanding - the vocals breathtaking and the dance a true conviction of beauty, movement and faith. And we are so blessed to have the smooth tantalizing sounds of IN TOUCH. Work from the Bottoms Up Group is to be commended. It would be great to hear and see more from our new residents and musicians. I would also like to thank Sho Dozono for spearheading the the flight of mercy tour to New Orleans in April - such an undertaking to a very worthwhile case. » reply

In practical relatioSubmitted by hairy on Sat, 10/27/2007 - 4:39pm.
In practical relations, this would be to annihilate them, by making them res nullius, notwithstanding the fact that acts of will in relation to such things would formally harmonize, in the actual use of them, with the external freedom of all according to universal laws. It is possible to have any external object of my will as mine. The problem, of course, is that it is extremely difficult, even on close analysis of the text, to discern the degree to which the vision of the supposedly » reply

First Thursday
I love this time of the year. The days are slowly getting longer and more people are staying out admiring the new art work.
Sure in the Pearl they are stopping the artists from selling their art on the side walks, but they still live on. When instead they are all relocated on that one street deep in the Hood.
Attacking all sorts of people to come out and be seen. In the proces making some business deals and/or talking their trade.
This is all where it all starts. On the First Thursday events helod in the Pearl districts.
