How did we get our meat home before plastic was invented? The plastic grocery bag is only about 30 years old I think. I could be wrong though. The waxed butcher paper seems to work okay. I'll agree with Terry's concern, for once :), about the fact that the bread is in plastic bags, the meat is pre-packed in styro and plastic, and so many other things are delivered in a 'use-once' sort of package. But, getting rid of plastic grocery bags is a start. Surely we're smart enough to come up with reasonable solutions to transporting food, because that's really what it's all about - how to efficiently and effectively transport everyday goods.
