Lenny Anderson: Perhaps the biggest opportunity to address global warming in this region is the Columbia River Crossing.
JK: What warming?? I guess that you haven’t been paying attention to the best climate data that is available (and just happens to be maintained by Al Gore advisor, Jim Hansem) at the USHCN at NASA which shows that we have been cooling since 1998, tied with 1934, as the warmest year since the little ice age, 400 years ago. If you really care to look at facts instead of Sierra Club talking points take a look at : data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/graphs/US_USHCN.2005vs1999.txt

After you understand that data, you can discount some of the recent warming because of warming biases in most of the measuring stations because of their inappropriate placement. After the warmers admit to that little inconvenient truth” they then need to further downward adjust recent “warming” due to temperature sensor problems. When they finally admit to their errors, we will have little, if any, warming since the 1930s. We may even turnout to be cooler. If you don’t know abot these problems you are simply not sufficiently informed to comment on this subject.

Lenny Anderson: I hope Sam will look for a solution there that actually reduces vehicle trips and does not bring thousands more motor vehicles into Portland. Instituting variable priced tolling on I-5 and I-205 now will reduce congestion, generate income for whatever gets built and
JK:and screw the low income as you increase their cost of living and force their families to choose between getting to work aqnd feeding their families. But you never cared about people’s income when you helped put thousands of Oregonians out of work over phony logging issues.

Lenny Anderson: make a strong statement to the world about how this region will address global warming. How about it Sam?
JK: I am simply amazed by the comments made by activists than never bother to check their facts before they open their mouths. Why don’t you take a look at the web sites I posted above then read the peer reviewed journal references on those sites. Get back to use after you read and understand them.

For lurkers:
1. There are recent papers that claim things other than CO2 are causing warming. This DISPROVES the “all scientists agree” crap.
2. The NAS showed that the “hockey stick” was wrong. This disproves one of the warmer’s key points. (It was probably an intentional fraud.)
3. As I mentioned above the world quit warming in 1998 (tied with 1934 for the warmest year since the little ice age).
4. The Antarctic ice cores show that CO2 FOLLOWS temperature, not leads it. Therefore CO2 does not initiate global warming. Even Al Gore appears to recognize this in his fictional “documentary” when he shows the graphs of temperature and CO2, but only refers to a relationship instead of a cause and effect - he knew that CO2 FOLLOWS temperature and intentionally hid that fact - he lied.
5. The most effective warming gas is water vapor, not CO2, by a wide margin.

If you don’t understand all of the above 5 points, you have no business claiming that global warming is man caused and therefore man curable.
