I think there's valid debate about bike boxes, but in response to your "think they own the road" comment, we all own the road. Or as the cycling community's new slogan goes, "We are all traffic." Cyclists are not beneath motorists. Cyclists indeed owned the road before motorists ever came along, leading some of the original paving efforts. Now we share.
