Commissioner Adams, as I mentioned in my letter to you a couple of days ago, I really appreciate the planning work you have done and are continuing to do.

But something must be done immediately about the lack of citations in all 3 of the recent incidents. We need to hear from the Police department that they will enforce all the laws of the road, including the one that says a motor vehicle must yield to a cyclist in a bike lane!

Lack of resources is not an excuse -- there is time and resources to give me a ticket for driving with a bad brake light, and time and resources to give cyclists tickets for not obeying traffic control devices (stop signs) -- there must be time and resources to at the very least write a ticket when a vehicle clearly breaks the bike lane right of way law.

Continue planning, and continue the conversation, it's great that you are facilitating that -- but please include in that conversation the fact that laws meant to protect cyclists are not being enforced! Please!
