transportation comment
From my observations, a few little things could make a difference in getting around Portland.
1. Make sure every intersection is marked with the street names. No one should come to a crossroad and ask "Where am I?".
Make sure tree branches aren't obliterating the signs and traffic signs! Cut, prune, hack them back or tell the property owner to. Its a safety issue!!
2. Make sure every building has easily visible (from windshield level) street address numbers so an address listing has actual reference use when trying to locate something! How much traffic is going back and forth around the block trying to figure out where a certain address is? Congestion, pollution, wasted time. In order to be a visitor-friendly city this is essential! A numbered address system means nothing if the numbers are not visible or useable for reference in locating.
3. Just for safety, tell all the silver, grey and black cars that look like asphalt to turn their lights on!!!
