While I completely reject what appears to be nothing more than a smear tactic for political gain, I have to say that I don't know what kool-aid those of you praising Sam have been drinking. Wholly apart from this distasteful distraction, Sam is not the hero riding in a white horse. Based on my own interaction with him, I find him to be arrogant, abrasive, and abusive to those with whom he disagrees. It's Sam's way or the highway and if any of you thinks that he's "different" from other self-promoting politicians, you need to wake up. Your unnuanced adulation only encourages this kind of egotism and will corrode the good things about Portland politics as much as any smear tactics.
