Thanks for the Grant!

To provide a welcoming environment for people who live, work and visit Fox Chase, local residents and businesses have been contributing time, energy, and money to create functional public art that enhances the street environment while also contributing to pedestrian safety. As part of the 2006 Village Building Convergence, the community completed an artistic mosaic planter that includes reflective elements to provide drivers with clear visual cues that they are approaching a pedestrian-oriented area. This improvement is only a small plan of the five-year plan that community members developed for the area.

The recent grant made to the Fox Chase Business Association from the Alliance of Portland Neighborhood Business Associations will help fund the completion of seven more mosaic planters in the area. The mosaic panels of the planters will be made by volunteers during community building work parties facilitated by Mary Tapogna. A dozen treewells in the area will also be cleaned-up and re-planted as part of this project.

Thank you Sam and APNBA for this valuable support to our growing neighborhood business area!
