Transportation Budget Priorities

I live in the Southeast side not far from the Ross Island Bridge. I would like to see all city transportation monies directed toward providing more lanes on I-5 and an expanded I-5 bridge between Portland and Vancouver. We have enough streetcars and lightrail. I'd rather ride a bike or walk than take a streetcar or train around the city. More streetcars and trains do me absolutely no good. Increasing lanes on I-5 through Portland central, however, would improve the ability to get freight in and out and reduce peoples time spent in traffic. Moving cars/trucks don't put out as much pollution and don't consume as much fuel as those sitting idle in traffic.

PLEASE TAKE A BALANCED APPROACH, and earmark more monies for improving car travel in and out of Portland central. Even us bike riders and walkers like to head for the hills sometimes using a car.
