How is it a response? Your post seems to indicate that mass transit is just getting started, that we should 'give it a chance', that it will catch on. My reply was to show that no, mass transit has been around for a long time, that it really started to go downhill once government took it over and it's been heading the wrong direction ever since.

Light rail is more expensive than any other kind of mass transit and MUCH more inflexible. Nice vortex that city hall and Tri-Met has taken us down.
