Gore Wins Nobel PrizeBy Lisa Libby
Today, former Vice President Al Gore and a United Nations panel on climate change were awarded the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to raise awareness of global warming. Gore, who has laid the foundation for fighting global warming, commented that "global warming is not a political issue but a worldwide crisis."  His efforts have lifted environmental consciousness and increased awareness of human impacts on climate change. Gore depicted his predictions on climate change in the academy award winning film, 'An Inconvenient Truth.' In the film, Gore explored data regarding climate change and the potential for disaster. It warned that climate change - linked to drought, floods, and rising seas - could threaten living conditions around the world.
